- Writer and editor of Kerouac: His Life and Work (2007), Empty Phantoms: Interviews and Encounters with Jack Kerouac (2006), Jack Kerouac's American Journey (2007), and Miles on Miles: Interviews and Encounters with Miles Davis (2008). He has also edited the forthcoming Tom Waits on Tom Waits: The Collected Interviews with Tom Waits due in Summer 2011. Maher is also writing a full-length critical biography of Jack Kerouac for Southern Illinois University Press.

What a lovely image. I recently hiked Wachusett as part of my ever-evolving (though modest) quest to retrace some of Thoreau's mountain-climbing-footsteps in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I must admit--I didn't see anything quite so lovely as your photo when I climbed back in August...
BTW--I absolutely love your Kerouac scholarship and eagerly await the new edition/revisions...
